Rural Musicians Forum announces 2008 Unity Chapel series
The Rural Musicians Forum's 23rd annual summer concert series at Unity Chapel in Spring Green opens on Monday, June 16th and runs every other Monday evening through August 11th, with a final concert following on Monday, August 18th. The Unity Chapel is a historic chapel at HWY T and HWY 23 just south of Spring Green. Concerts begin at 7:30 and are offered for a free will donation except for the August 18th Birthday Bash concert. The concert themes are diverse and include local and Madison-area musicians
The concert on Monday, June 16th titled "The Big Give", showcases the local performers who came together to create the CD "Spring Green Voices for Sustenance." Mike and Lori Schmidt recorded the CD, and proceeds from the CD benefit the Spring Green Community Church Food Pantry. A limited number of CD's have been ordered for this concert, and will be on sale for $12 each. Playing along with the local musicians is celebrated guitarist and singer, Richard Wiegel of Madison. Richard combines several genres of music into his performance, including rock, ragtime, blues, jug band music, and jazz.
